design of piping system

The purpose of the design of piping can be generally classified as follows:

1.Materials : What materials are in accordance with the working conditions (external / internalm pressure, temperature, corrosion, etc.) are requested from the piping system. Material selection is crucial because it determines the overall system reliability, cost factors, safety, and service life.  
2.Standard Code : Standard Code suitable to be applied to the piping system to be designed. Selection of the correct standard code will determine the overall design direction, both in terms of cost, reliability, safety design, and stress analysis.  
3.Pipe Thickness : Calculation and selection of pipe thickness can not be done arbitrarily, or based solely on intuition. Selection of the thickness of the pipe (schedule number) should meet the criteria for adequate, safe, and availability of stock on the market. 
4.Pipe fittings : how the piping system would be connected to one another, connection type, and materials such as what the appropriate connections.  
5.Pipeline system planning and routing : How planning and routing of the pipeline system will be done. General arrangement, and the routing should be done with due respect to inherent safety design, pipe consumption to a minimum without sacrificing flexibility and aesthetic aspects, or disrupt and reduce the capabilities, functions and operations of the connected equipment.
